In 2025, I worked as Features Editor on Timbre, a digital magazine created in association with Cheltenham Festivalsfor the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. The magazine was developed as part of a project to engage younger audiences (ages 18–30) with the vibrant world of jazz and festival culture.
WHAT I DID:
- Appointed Features Editor for the launch of Timbre, overseeing the planning and execution of all editorial content
- Subedited and proofed every feature, ensuring consistency in tone, clarity, and quality across the publication
- Collaborated closely with writers to refine and shape their work
- Designed multiple pages, creating engaging, reader-friendly layouts that matched the tone and energy of the festival
- Helped guide the magazine’s editorial identity, balancing music journalism with cultural relevance for a younger demographic
