Flawed

At the end of my second year at university, I co-founded Flawed, a digital women’s magazine, with my classmates Emily Olive and Ella Gardner. This passion project was born out of a shared desire to create honest, impactful content that speaks to the experiences of women today.
TOGETHER, WE CREATED TWO POWERFUL EDITIONS:
The Body Issue — exploring body image and self-perception
The Taboo Issue — diving into subjects society often avoids but young people face daily
WHAT I DID:
- Co-founded and launched a digital publication from concept to release
- Led editorial content for The Body Issue, overseeing writing, editing, and tone
- Conducted and wrote interview features, including a six-page spread with TikTok influencer, nutritionist and personal trainer Manisha Morgan
- Designed digital layouts to bring editorial and visual elements together cohesively
- Co-produced a companion podcast, Mother’s Meeting, to offer a more personal extension of the magazine’s themes
- Interviewed high-profile voices, including Neal Slateford, co-founder of Lovehoney Group, for The Taboo Issue
SKILLS I GAINED:
- Digital editorial leadership
- Interviewing and long-form feature writing
- Page layout and design for digital media
- Podcast development and audio storytelling
- Team collaboration and project management
- Working to publishing deadlines in a digital environment
