Farid the zine

As Editor-in-Chief of Farid the Zine — a student-led magazine — I had the exciting opportunity to lead the full creative process for an entire issue. Titled “The Controversial Issue,” this edition explored taboos and societal pressures faced by young people today.

- Planned and managed the production cycle from brainstorming to publication.

- Wrote original articles on sensitive and thought-provoking topics.

- Subedited contributions to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.

-  Designed magazine pages, blending visual storytelling with editorial content.

SKILLS I GAINED:

- Leadership and team management

- Editorial planning and publishing workflows

- Feature writing on youth and social issues

- Page layout and magazine design

- Subediting and proofreading

- Collaborative creative direction

ROLES I TOOK ON:

- Editor-in-Chief – Responsible for the magazine’s voice, quality, and overall output.

- Writer & Subeditor – Contributed written pieces and polished submissions from other contributors.

- Designer – Created visually compelling page layouts that aligned with the issue's themes.
